Growing Younger

I feel like an emotional wreck right now.

Walk carefully.

Don't be too nice and don't been too mean.

Don't get upset at me and don't compliment me.

Don't be sarcastic and don't be absolutely truthful.

I take that one back. Absolutely truthful is always in good taste.

But you will probably get tears anyway.

They are coming.

But don't provoke them.

Right inside my eyelids, just waiting to cascade over my lashes and down my cheeks.

A whole flood of them.

Actually, more like a tsunami.
